A Million Bags, Counted in the Open
One million compostable waste bags, given away with the products you already buy. Every roll is 15 bags, and a roll counts only once it has shipped.
Goal: 1,000,000 bags
Counting starts when the first roll ships.
Method
How We Count
A public number is only worth as much as the rule behind it. Here is ours, in full.
Bags that shipped, not bags in stock
The count comes from fulfilled orders. Stock moves for damage, recounts and transfers, none of which is a bag in somebody's hand, so stock is never what we count.
The number only goes up
A cancelled order is simply never counted. If our internal figure ever falls, this page holds the last confirmed total rather than counting down in public.
A stored total, not a live lookup
The total is worked out on a schedule and stored, so this page never waits on a live lookup. Nothing has written one yet, which is why there is no figure above rather than a zero. The goal is 66,667 rolls.
The Bags Travel With
What You Already Buy
Nothing extra to opt into and nothing extra to pay for. Every roll that ships moves this count, and the count is the same one you can read on this page at any time.
