Winston's Wishes
A Milwaukee foster program and sanctuary helping local dogs find their happily ever after.
Milwaukee, WIWhat they do
Winston’s Wishes is a Wisconsin nonprofit that helps local Milwaukee dogs through a foster program and a sanctuary. It focuses on dogs that are shutting down in the shelter environment, dogs who need extra medical care, and seniors, giving them time to decompress, medical care and any behavioral training they need before placement. It began when founder Jake, who adopted his dog Winston in 2014, wanted to do more for local dogs. In 2019 it took in its first transfer from MADACC, and it has since brought more than 40 dogs into the sanctuary and foster homes. Their approach is quality over quantity.
