Great for playing tug, fetch, or gnawing on the Mumbies root chew. The braided rope is made from coconut husk fiber, while the wood chew in the center is 100% non-toxic coffee tree – same as our Mumbies Root Chew. They are dense, break down slowly, and are highly resistant to cracking and splintering due to the hardness of the wood and tightly packed fibers within. Best for moderate chewers. Not recommended for heavy chewers as they can come apart quickly for an overly enthusiastic dog.
This product is made from 100% natural coffee tree wood and coconut husk rope sourced from independent farms in Vietnam.
Only allow chewing under direct supervision. Not suitable for dogs under 6 months. Regularly inspect for signs of breaking, loose pieces, or wear and replace when necessary for your dog's safety. While it’s generally safe if small fibers of the wood pulp are ingested, this product is not meant for internal consumption. Watch your dog closely and discourage them from swallowing any pieces of this chew. The dog’s saliva naturally softens the wood. If the ends get brittle from chewing, you can wet the chew between sessions to make it a little more gentle for your pal.

Mumbies is a Franklin, Wisconsin dog brand built around natural chews. Its Original and Root Chews are 100% coffee tree wood, which resists cracking and splintering and softens into fibers as dogs chew instead of breaking into sharp pieces. The line also includes coconut rope toys for tug and fetch, and Yummies Bison Liver treats for simple rewards. Mumbies began with one rescue dog, and rescues are still at the heart of the brand.

It starts with retired coffee trees
The wood at the centre of every rope comes from retired coffee trees. As trees age and produce fewer beans, farmers replace them with new ones. We work directly with small, independent farms in Vietnam to give that wood a second life as a natural dog chew.
Braided coconut husk rope
The rope is braided from coconut husk fiber, a sustainable, all-natural alternative to plush toys.

Cut & shaped

Naturally dried
The wood is dried thoroughly to bring down moisture levels, strengthen the chew, and help it break down slowly as dogs work on it.

Reviewed on Oct 11, 2026 from UtahKuma loves the rope & root chew. Or I should say, loved the rope part. The rope went fast but the root is lasting a long time.

Reviewed on Aug 19, 2026 from New YorkIt’s been a pleasure; great personal writings, consistent product experience, and while expensive these are some of my puppy’s favorite toys. His inner animal comes out and it’s so adorable it just looks so natural for him and he gets so excited whenever he gets a new one. I will probably be buying these for a long time, lol.

Reviewed on Aug 16, 2026 from ConnecticutI have a dog that lives to chew and it took him 2 days to get through the coconut rope. The wood is their favorite to chew so once the rope was gone they still had a chew toy
