Meet Mumble

This is Mumble – aka Mumble-Bee, Mr. Mumbs, Mumbie…

He is one of the happiest, fun-loving pups around. You would have no idea the story behind how he got here.

At about one year old, Mumble was found on the streets of Milwaukee and soon adopted by a family. Within the year he was without a home. Picked up once more by the local shelter, Mumble was severely emaciated. His tail was infected so badly it required amputation, and because he busted his stitches the first time it had to be amputated even further. The vet was concerned he’d stay small because of starvation and malnutrition – Mumble weighed in at just 35 lbs…

Mumble was taken in by a wonderful rescue to care for him and find him a home, and treated by the incredible staff at the vet. All he wanted was to be around people. And without his tail, Mumble’s whole body would wiggle in his excitement at a new face.

This pup was in need of some extreme TLC.

They found a foster through social media and that was our Founder. What was supposed to be temporary care turned into a beloved companion. Given about a month of time to rest and recover, Mumble began to shine. His tail healed and became the cutest little nubbin. And those happy feet kept prancing (hence the name Mumble from the movie Happy Feet) at every person that passed.

Officially weighing in now at 63 lbs, Mumble is thriving. He loves to run in the grass with his best friend, Selene (also adopted from the same rescue). He loves to chew Mumbies sticks, play fetch, meet new people, and most of all spend as much time as he possibly can being a cuddle buddy.

It just goes to show that while faced with adversity, joy can prevail. Mumble is that representation of joy, and why Mumbies was named after him. He’s the inspiring spirit; borne not only of the desire to bring planet-friendly, natural products to dog lovers, but also as a vehicle for change.

When you know Mumble, you understand our “why.” To ensure resources go to the ones working tirelessly on the front lines protecting our furry best friends. To see the possibility in every dog and ultimately ensure each one has a place to call home.
