Safe Use
Using your Mumbies chew safely is what matters most to us.
We're not here to sell you a product. Rather to help uplift all dogs and our relationship with them.
So when giving Mumbies to your pup, please do so under close supervision. Anytime you give a dog something new, it can be difficult to know how they behave with the product.
What we know about dogs, is that they LOVE sticks. Not just a little...a lot. So imagine being them and having your favorite thing in the world dropped in front of you, and you can actually destroy it. Many are going to love it to pieces.
So this excitement should be closely monitored. You should watch how aggressive they get with it and ensure they are in a calm state when receiving it. It's best to not leave a dog alone with any toy or chew and this is no different.
What works best is limiting chewing sessions. Perhaps let them have it for a few minutes, then trade them a treat to take it away as a reward. This way it will also prolong the longevity of the chew.
As pieces break away from the chew, see how they interact with it. Do they spit them out? Or do they try to pick them up and eat them? Most don't want to eat it, they simply want a sense of accomplishment by breaking it down.
If your dog does attempt to swallow it or pieces, this is a behavior you want to correct immediately with a command or even trading for a treat. When pieces dislodge from the chew they are easy to sweep or vacuum up and you'll want to do so immediately, or have your pup chew on a blanket that you can just shake out.
These also work incredibly well for reward-based training, and hide and seek. You can try doing a sit, stay, and recall. When they come to you, you can give them their Mumbies as a reward and let them have it for a bit until you do it again.
You can also hide it around the yard to have them go find it. Or have a fun game of fetch. With the larger sizes, some dogs like to play a safe game of tug of war – of course if they don't get too aggressive.
There are many ways to safely use your Mumbies chews. Whatever way you choose, please help your dogs chew responsibly!
